Week 6 of self Spartan Training: Gestures and Value Studies

I have been putting myself through "Spartan Training" to try and get my hand better at art. I have been doing about 30 gestures a day, a few value studies a week, and reading books from my library.

I finished the two books I started six weeks ago: A Princess of Mars  by Edgar Rice Burroughs and "Framed Perspective Volume 1" By Marcos Mateu-Mestre.  Both of these books are part of the road to self betterment as an artist. I am not here to review books, but Framed Perspective Vol 1 is published by Design Studio Press, so you know it's solid.

A Princess of Mars was better than my initial expectations. It really is classic escapism at it's finest and I am excited to continue the series. I have already started book 2: The Gods of Mars." I am one chapter deep and very happy.

Today I begin Framed Perspective 2. Later this week I will go deeper into The Gods of Mars.

I think it's important to read things to try and better oneself.

Anyway, here is a bunch of bad drawings. Some good ones are surely around the corner :D

Be seeing you,

10 days worth of updates.

This is what I have been up to over the last 10 days since I posted. This is kind of a dump of stuff. Most of it is just practice bullshit. Gestures, some 45 minute value studies, and a WIP of a little guy I am working on.

Drool Guy Final and some gestures from last week.

I am rusty at gestures. Time to get back into form. These were done with a pen in a medium size moleskin sketchbook if anyone were to be curious.
